Gary Lineker took to Twitter during West Ham’s 2-0 win over Leeds on Monday night to make a pretty bold comparison.
After Craig Dawson doubled the Irons’ lead in the 28th minute with a powerful header, the BBC Match of the Day host likened him to a Real Madrid legend – Sergio Ramos.
Known for his goalscoring ability from set-pieces, the 178-cap Spain international has scored a remarkable 103 career goals from centre-back.
Ramos has 100 goals in 668 games for Real Madrid, along with 40 assists.
The 34-year-old also scored three in 45 games for Sevilla.
Dawson doesn’t quite have the same strike rate, although he has scored 47 goals from centre-back, which is still very impressive.

The 30-year-old really is starting to look like one of the signings of the season.
Dawson now has four goals in 16 appearances this season, and his strikes always seem to be important ones.
Apart from his consolation against Liverpool, West Ham’s No.15 scored the winning goal against Stockport in the FA Cup, and netted significant goals in the 3-2 win over Crystal Palace and last night’s win over Leeds.
