The London club are currently one point ahead of third-placed Manchester City and six points behind leaders Liverpool, with the duo set to meet at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday.

Following Spurs’ win in Cardiff, Lineker took to his personal Twitter account to eulogise over his former club and the manner they are able to compete with their rivals despite not possessing the same spending power.
