The former Tottenham Hotspur and Everton striker was impressed with the display produced by Gibbs-White during Wolves’ 2-1 win against Newcastle away from home at St. James’ Park on Sunday evening.
The 18-year-old did not start the match, but the talented and promising teenager came on as a substitute on the hour mark.
According to WhoScored, Gibbs-White took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 86.7%, won two headers, and played one key pass.
Lineker was following the match, and the former England international striker was impressed with the performance of Gibbs-White.
Promising talent
Gibbs-White has yet to establish himself in the Wolves starting lineup, but the midfielder has shown a lot of promising and certainly has a lot of potential.
Wolves manager Nuno is doing the right thing by taking it slow with the youngster and not playing him in the starting lineup.
Gibbs-White is only 18 years of age, and the England Under-19 international has to be patient and make the most of the chances he gets as a substitute.
