Gary Lineker has given his take on Liverpool and Arsenal on Twitter after the match at Anfield on Monday evening.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker was following the Premier League game between Liverpool and Arsenal last night.

Although the Gunners took the lead, the defending Premier League champions launched a strong comeback and picked up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 3-1 win.

Former Everton and Leicester City striker Lineker believes that Arsenal are going in the right direction, and that the Gunners need to get a couple of defenders.

Lineker has also predicted Liverpool to concede more goals this season than they did during the 2019-20 campaign if they continue to play the way they did against the Gunners.

Encouraging signs

Although Liverpool were the better team overall last night, Arsenal did make it hard for the Reds.

The Gunners are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season, and manager Mikel Arteta will be encouraged by his players’ performance and attitude against the Reds.

As for Liverpool, the Merseyside outfit will be determined to win the title again this season.
