Gary Lineker has suggested on Twitter that Liverpool should not let Georginio Wijnaldum leave at the end of the season.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and England international striker was impressed by the performance produced by Wijnaldum during Liverpool’s 4-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

The Netherlands international midfielder scored a wonderful goal in the 58th minute and had a good game overall.

According to WhoScored, Wijnaldum took one shot which ended in goal, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 97.6%, won one header, took 49 touches, and made one interception and one clearance.

Wijnaldum is out of contract at Liverpool in the summer of 2021, and Lineker has suggested that the defending Premier League champions should not let him leave on a free.

New contract for Georginio Wijnaldum?

Wijnaldum has been at Liverpool since 2016 and has established himself as a regular in the team.

The Netherlands international plays well consistently, and despite competition for places, he has managed to keep his spot in the team.

Given the importance of the 30-year-old to Liverpool, it would make sense for the Reds to hand him a new contract.
