Gary Lineker has singled out Erik ten Hag for praise after Manchester United beat Manchester City this afternoon.

Ten Hag’s side came from behind to edge out the Sky Blues 2-1 at Old Trafford.

As a result, Manchester United are now only one point behind Pep Guardiola’s side and if the latter are in the Premier League title race, the same must be said for those at the Theatre of Dreams.

Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford in the final 12 minutes saw the Red Devils pull off a stunning comeback against Manchester City.

Under the Dutchman, United lost their first two Premier League games of the season – including a 4-0 reverse away to Brentford.

And Lineker has heralded the former Ajax coach – who earns £170,000 per week [The Sun] – for the turnaround he has instigated.

Here’s what he put on Twitter:

If you’re Manchester City, this is a problem.

Arsenal beating Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow would see the Gunners move eight points clear of them at the top of the Premier League standings.

Manchester United are the only Premier League outfit to beat Mikel Arteta’s side this season.

The North Londoners are bang in form and if you give them eight points, well that’s a very difficult deficit to make up.
