Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to hail Leonardo Spinazzola, after Italy beat Belgium to reach the EURO 2020 semi-finals.
What’s the story?
Well, sadly, the wing-back was stretchered off in the dying stages, after damaging his Achilles Tendon.
Once he’d gone off, Lineker took to Twitter to praise the 28-year-old for his efforts at Euro 2020, and made a big claim.
The BBC Match of the Day pundit said Spinazzola – who’s a target for Tottenham – has been one of the best players at the entire tournament.
You can see Lineker’s tweet below.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of his injury, we doubt Tottenham will be looking to sign the Roma defender anytime soon.
Presumably, he will remain on their list of players they admire, and the interest will be revisited once he regains full fitness.
Would’ve been perfect for Nuno Espírito Santo

At Wolves, Nuno Espírito Santo often deployed a wing-back system, in which Jonny Otto and Matt Doherty roamed the flanks to great effect.
In Spinazzola, Nuno would’ve had a fantastic wing-back, who has absolutely shone in that position at Euro 2020.
Despite having the likes of Lorenzo Insigne and Ciro Immobile in Italy’s ranks, you could argue that Spinazzola has actually been their best attacker.

He contributed to Immobile’s goal against Turkey, and has constantly been a thorn in the side of opposition right-backs.
Under Nuno, who specialises with wing-back systems, we believe he would’ve taken the Premier League by storm.
Sadly, both Spinazzola and Tottenham will now have to put a potential partnership on ice, until he recovers from his nasty injury.
