Gary Lineker has given his reaction on Twitter to Arsenal’s goalless draw with Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday evening.
Arsenal played out a goalless draw with London rivals Palace at home in the Premier League.
It was not a great game and was not very entertaining, and former Tottenham Hotspur and England international striker Lineker was not impressed.
Meanwhile, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has said on Twitter that Arsenal missed Mesut Ozil against the Eagles.
The German attacking midfielder has not played for the Gunners since March 2020 and is not part of the current squad.
Brutally honest verdict
Arsenal have been in good form in recent weeks, but Mikel Arteta’s side struggled against Palace.
As Arteta himself said after the match, as quoted in Football.London, the Gunners could not create big chances.
Lineker’s verdict is brutally honest. Both Arsenal and Palace are in mid-table. The Gunners are 11th and London rivals Palace are a point behind in 13th. The football was show was mediocre.
If Arsenal are to challenge for the Premier League top four, then they have to do better against teams such as Palace and have to win such matches.
