West Bromwich Albion are now looking for a new boss after bidding farewell to the experienced gaffer.
Former footballer Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to have his say on Tony Pulis’s dismissal as West Bromwich Albion manager, and it seems he thinks there is only one man for the job.
There is no doubt West Brom have struggled this season, starting the campaign in great form before a run of 10 Premier League games without a win saw them slip perilously close to the relegation zone.
Their latest defeat came on Saturday, when they were humbled 4-0 by Chelsea, and that proved to be Pulis’s last game in charge of the Baggies. Not that Lineker feels the West Brom board have made the right decision parting company with the 59-year-old.
“Tony Pulis has been sacked by West Brom,” the former England international wrote. “Looking around at those available, the best man to help them stay up could well be…Tony Pulis.”
Some West Brom fans wanted a change but one fears it could be a similar scenario to when Charlton Athletic parted company with Alan Curbishley.
After years of stability the Addicks went into free-fall and it would be foolish to write off all Pulis’s impressive achievements just because West Brom have had a tough few months.
Alas the West Brom board have acted and it is now their job to find a man who can get them winning again, preferably this side of the hectic Christmas and New Year fixtures.
