Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Manchester City’s defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers by making a pertinent point about Liverpool.

City have suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Wolves at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The result means that the Citizens are now second in the league table with 16 points from eight matches, as many as eight points behind leaders Liverpool.

Former Tottenham and Everton striker Lineker has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the defeat for the Citizens.

While Lineker has stated that the title is now Liverpool’s to lose, he has reminded the Reds about how they slipped up in the title race last season after taking a considerable lead.

According to BBC Sport, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool were seven points clear at the top of the league table when they took on City at the Etihad Stadium on January 3, but Guardiola’s team ended up winning the title by a point last season.
