There was a bit of history for one Liverpool player on Saturday.
Jurgen Klopp’s outfit recorded a 3-1 victory over Southampton at Anfield yesterday.
Darwin Nunez scored two of Liverpool’s three goals – with Roberto Firmino scoring the other – but James Milner emerged from the contest with much of the headlines.
The evergreen veteran came off the bench to make his 600th Premier League appearance.

Milner turns 37 in January but the fact that he continues to get minutes for a club like Liverpool is testament to his ability and professionalism.
And here’s how Gary Lineker reacted to the ‘great achievement’ on Twitter:
Most Premier League appearances
Only three other players have recorded over 600 Premier League appearances [official website].
Gareth Barry has played more than anyone in the competition’s history with 653, followed by Ryan Giggs in second [632] and Frank Lampard in third [609].
It might not be for Liverpool, but Milner is well capable of at least beating Giggs.
In fact, he could wind up with the overall record.
Despite his advancing years, the fact he remains in Liverpool’s squad, and can still do the hard yards that Klopp demands, means he is extremely fit.
There’s 24 more games for the Reds this season up for grabs and another 38 next term.
His contract expires in the summer but another Premier League outfit could very easily snap him up on a Bosman if he’s happy to continue playing which, as mentioned, he probably will be.
