The Tottenham Hotspur boss made a public apology to Mike Dean.

Under-fire Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino proved his class on Tuesday.

Pochettino was charged with improper conduct by the Football Association earlier this week after angrily confronting referee Mike Dean after Spurs’ 2-1 defeat at Burnley on Saturday.

The Argentine was furious over Dean’s decision to award the Clarets a corner which ultimately led to them opening the scoring through Chris Wood.

The 46-year-old Tottenham manager apologised to the veteran official on Tuesday, before accepting his FA charge.

And Lilywhites legend Gary Lineker was blown away by the humility.

Lineker is right – he is a class act and Tottenham fans will be hoping for similar class on the field from their players tonight.

Pochettino’s side visit wounded Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and anything but a win for the North Londoners – six points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool – might spell the end of their title challenge.
