Gary Lineker has said on Twitter that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane “bought” the penalty against Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday evening.

The former Tottenham striker is not convinced it was a penalty and thinks that the incident happened outside the Brighton box.

Kane put Spurs in the lead on 13 minutes when he found the net from the penalty spot.

The England international striker himself earned the penalty after Adam Lallana was adjudged to have committed a foul on him.

However, Lineker is not convinced, and neither is former Tottenham star Micky Hazard.

Tottenham Hotspur are going strong

Tottenham went on to win the match against Brighton 2-1 and are now second in the Premier League table.

Of course, it is still very early in the season, but the signs are looking very promising for Spurs.

Tottenham do need to get better defensively, but the North London club are picking up points and are getting wins.

While the main objective of Jose Mourinho’s side has to be to finish in the top four, if they continue their form until the New Year, then they could be dreaming of a title challenge.
