Gary Lineker, Chris Sutton and Rio Ferdinand have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the defeat for Liverpool against Southampton.
Liverpool have suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Southampton away from home at St. Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League this evening.
Danny Ings scored the only goal of the match as early as the second minute.
The Reds did not have the best of games and failed to test Southampton much. The Saints were the better side and deservedly picked up all three points from the encounter.
Liverpool remain at the top of the Premier League table with 33 points from 17 matches. Manchester United are level on points with the Reds and have played 16 games.
Manchester City are fifth, but they have picked up 29 points from 15 matches, while Tottenham Hotspur have 29 points from 16 games.
Liverpool ran away with the league last season, but Jurgen Klopp’s side are certainly facing a tougher challenge this time around.
