Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic have progressed to the group stage of the Champions League this season.

Tottenham Hotspur legend Gary Lineker has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Celtic’s defeat to FC Astana on Tuesday evening.
Celtic lost the second leg of their Champions League qualifying playoff tie 4-3 to Kazakhstan Premier League club Astana away from home at the Astana Arena.
Having won the first leg of the tie 5-0 at Celtic Park last week, the Scottish Premiership giants were firm favourites to progress through to the group stage of the Champions League.

Although the Glasgow side eventually went through 8-4 on aggregate, they had to do it the hard way and were given a scare by Astana in the second leg.
At one stage of the game on Tuesday evening, it did look like Stanimir Stoilov’s side were going to overturn the deficit from the first leg.
In the end, though, Celtic did not let that happen, and although they lost the second leg, Brendan Rodgers’s side still went through.
Former Tottenham striker Lineker was following the match, and he has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the second-leg result.
Former Celtic duo Chris Sutton and Frank McAvennie have also taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the final result.
