Gardner’s combativeness has added quality to Villa’s midfield, and supporters of the Midlands club were delighted to see the central-midfielder commit his future.
After signing a new deal, Gardner looks likely to start in Villa’s next match, which comes against Burton Albion on Boxing Day.
