Gary Gardner has made 15 appearances for Aston Villa so far this season.
Gary Gardner has told the Birmingham Mail that he is living the dream now he is playing for Aston Villa.
Gardner has broken through Villa’s youth academy to become an important part of their first-team squad this term, but he has had to bide his time before being handed a chance.
The 24-year-old was sent out on a series of loan spells before this season, with his talents often overlooked.
“To be playing at Villa Park this Christmas is so special for me,” he said.
“I wanted to grow up and play for Aston Villa and look at where I am today, I’m doing that.
“I’m living that dream. I never complain.
“I just want to do whatever I can do to repay the club for giving me this great opportunity.”

However, Steve Bruce appears to be a big fan of the central midfielder’s talents and he has used him regularly since taking charge.
Gardner admits that it is a dream come true for him, as he is finally feeling valued at the Midlands club.
Gardner has now made 15 appearances for Villa in all competitions this campaign, and he has scored one occasion.

The combative midfielder has been a reliable performer for the claret and blues in recent weeks, as they have climbed the Championship table.
Villa are currently in 13th place in the second tier standings, with their next match coming against Burton Albion on Boxing Day.
