McGregor was adjudged to have kicked out at Kristoffer Ajer during Sunday’s clash between Celtic and Rangers.
Kilmarnock midfielder Gary Dicker has reacted sarcastically on Twitter after Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor escaped punishment from the Scottish Football Association, despite kicking out at Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer.
McGregor, 36, was caught kicking Ajer while the two players got back on their feet after the Rangers summer signing had punched away a free kick in the first half. The incident was missed by referee Willie Collum.
Dicker was sent off in the previous round of Scottish Premiership matches for a tackle on Hearts star Calumn Morrison, receiving his marching orders from Collum.
Killie appealed with manager Steve Clarke confident a decision would be overturned, only to learn that they had failed in a bid to get the two-match ban overturned. Dicker reacted on Twitter after hearing McGregor had escaped a ban.
The SFA and compliance officer Clare Whyte have been criticised for failing to ban McGregor, with some of the belief that their decision to overrule Alfredo Morelos’ red card against Aberdeen setting a precedent.
Dicker was banned for Kille’s win over Aberdeen at the weekend, and will remain on the sidelines for the clash against Hibernian after the international break at Easter Road.
Meanwhile, Rangers play host to Neil McCann’s struggling Dundee who sit at the foot of the table with 0 points from four league games. The Gers then travel to Spain to face Villarreal in the Europa League.
