Steven Gerrard’s Rangers can now bring Gary Cahill to Ibrox.

Well, if he wants to join the Gers.

The former Chelsea central defender has posted a series of tweets this afternoon saying that he is leaving Crystal Palace.

Cahill was out of contract at Palace at the end of June, but, as reported by The Sun last month, the Premier League club had offered him a new deal.

The British tabloid claimed that the Eagles’ offer was ‘less basic cash with extras for appearances’.

The same report stated that Rangers manager Gerrard wants to sign Cahill for the Gers.

The Ibrox club could pay the 35-year-old central defender £35,000 per week as salary.

And now, Cahill has made a decision to leave Palace, as shown below.

Cahill has not said where he is going to go now, and perhaps there is a chance that he could join Rangers.

Rangers are strong defensively, but the defending Scottish Premiership champions could play in the Champions League this season and could do with more depth.

Cahill won the Premier League twice, the Champions League once and the UEFA Europa League on two occasions with Chelsea.

The veteran defender is very experienced, and that could be useful for the Gers, especially in European football.
