Gary Brazil has told Nottingham Forest fans to remember the name of teenage striker Arvin Appiah as he prepares to represent England at the Under-17 European Championship.

Appiah was named in the Three Lions’ squad for the tournament – which kicks off on Friday evening – earlier today (Thursday).

And his Forest academy manager is tipping him for a big future in football.

Brazil said:

Appiah, who is still awaiting his senior debut, will miss the rest of Nottingham Forest Under-23s’ Professional Development League 2 play-off campaign as a result of his selection for England.

The 17-year-old’s impressive displays at that level led to him being offered – and subsequently signing – a new contract until June 2020 at the start of this year.

Should he break into Forest’s first team plans in the near future, he would follow in the footsteps of recent academy graduates Jordan Smith, Joe Worrall, Matty Cash and Ben Brereton.

How excited are you about Appiah’s future?
