Gary Brazil has confirmed at his press conference today that Nottingham Forest do not want to lose Chris Cohen.

Cohen’s contract at the City Ground is due to expire in the summer, and there were some doubts over whether the central midfielder had done enough to deserve new terms.

Cohen has struggled with injury throughout his time at Forest, and has only been fit enough to make 10 appearances this season.

However, Brazil insists that he intends to speak to the 29-year-old soon about securing his future at Forest.

Brazil has also suggested that Forest will open negotiations with some other players whose contracts are expiring this summer.

The likes of Michael Mancienne, Eric Lichaj, David Vaughan and Matty Fryatt all are set to become free agents at the end of the season as things stand.

Forest are currently in 18th place in the Championship table, and they sit just four points above the relegation zone.

Brazil’s side’s next match comes against title chasing Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
