Wolverhampton Wanderers are continuing to rise under the stewardship of Nuno Espirito Santo.
Garth Crooks has suggested that Nuno Espirito Santo has taken Wolves as far as he can take them after they secured seventh place in the Premier League table on Saturday.
Despite just recently earning promotion from the second tier, Nuno has done quite a remarkable job at the Midlands outfit and there is no doubt that they are the best team outside of the top-six.
When he joined the club at the start of last season, he was an unknown figure to many, but that didn’t faze him because he guided the club to the Championship title with relative ease – and now success in England’s top-flight.
But speaking to Final Score on BBC One (04/05/2019 at 5:10 pm), Crooks has suggested that securing a top-seven finish is the furthest Wolves will go under Nuno.
“I just think whether Nuno Espirito Santo has taken Wolves as far as they can go,” Crooks told Final Score. “They are on a dangerous area whereby Europe beckons. We have seen what European competitions can do to clubs.
“Where the resources are limited, he can overstretch them. And also, he is the sort of manager that will be sought-after by other clubs.”
Truthfully, Crooks’ comments will infuriate the fans because Nuno hasn’t even had the chance to show how far he can take this club
Given the fact that Wolves have gone from sitting mid-table in the Championship under Paul Lamber to Europe in the space of two seasons just goes to show the remarkable job he has done and what he can do.
There is no doubt that next season will be Nuno’s biggest test at the club because his team will be a marked team now and they potentially face the tough test of Europa League football.
