Tottenham star helped inspire 4-0 victory at the weekend.

BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks has selected four Tottenham Hotspur stars in his Premier League Team of the Week.

Spurs thrashed West Bromwich Albion 4-0 at the weekend with Harry Kane netting a hat-trick.

Along with Kane, Crooks picked out Kyle Walker, Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen as star performers.

It was about Danish maestro Eriksen who he was most colourful in his praise.

He said: “Eriksen doesn’t possess the combustible temperament or mischievous nature of a Gascoigne, or the artistry of a Modric or Hoddle – but what he does display all over the pitch, and with great alacrity, is a dignified football authority with which he absolutely destroyed West Brom.

“The season started slowly for Eriksen but, interestingly enough, Tottenham’s success in recent weeks totally correlates with his return to form.”

Eriksen created four chances in the win over the Baggies, ending with one assist, after managing an impressive 102 touches.

The Dane had one shot on target which led to an own goal, and even made one interception and two tackles too, buying into the team’s pressing strategy.

Eriksen has scored five goals this season in the league and provided eight assists, closing in already on last season’s tallies of six and 13.
