Tom Davies put in a stellar performance for Everton at the weekend, as they beat Southampton.

With Andre Gomes out of action for the season, Everton have had to search elsewhere for midfield options.
Davies had actually broken into the Toffees’ starting line-up prior to Gomes’s injury, but his performances over recent weeks have been highly impressive.
The England youth international even managed to get himself on the scoresheet in Everton’s last match against Southampton, which they won 2-1.
And Crooks claims that Davies’s display really caught his eye.
He said: “In the absence of Andre Gomes, the abilities of Tom Davies in midfield have become even important to Everton.
“What a relief it must have been then for the beleaguered Marco Silva, who for some reason is still under pressure at Goodison Park, that Davies was quite outstanding away at Southampton.”

Davies initially was really struggling to break into Everton’s team this term, and he was even overlooked for a League Cup match against Lincoln City, with Silva favouring other options.
However, the youngster has made himself undroppable in recent weeks, after seizing his opportunity in the first-team.
Everton’s win over Southampton was vital to Silva, as he fights to keep his job.
The Toffees are now in 15th place in the Premier League table, with their next match coming against Norwich City after the international break.
