James Milner was in action for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool this past weekend.

Crooks was impressed with the performance of Milner for Liverpool against Tottenham at the Wembley Stadium in London this past Saturday afternoon.
The 32-year-old former Leeds United and Newcastle United star – who can also operate as a winger or as a full-back – worked hard for the Reds and made it tough for the Tottenham midfielders to impose themselves.
Crooks has said that that Milner is his early contender for Footballer of the Year.
“He’s been playing top-class football since he was 16 years old, so we shouldn’t be entirely surprised 16 years later when the player strolls through a game as though he is reading the Sunday Times,” Crooks wrote on BBC Sport.
“James Milner’s understanding of a game of football is second to none and already Milner is looking like my early candidate for Footballer of the Year.
“I strongly believe that accolade belongs to a member of the team that wins the title. So you can see where I’m going with this folks.”

Quality footballer
Milner may be 32 years of age, but the former England international remains an important player for Liverpool.
The former Aston Villa star has played in all five Premier League matches for Jurgen Klopp’s side so far this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
Milner has been on the books of Liverpool since the summer of 2015 when he joined on a free transfer after leaving Premier League rivals Manchester City and when Brendan Rodgers – now the Celtic manager – was in charge of the Reds.
