Tottenham Hotspur lost against Liverpool in the Premier League at the weekend.

The former Tottenham forward was impressed with the shift put in by Gomez during the Reds’ 2-1 victory over Liverpool at the Wembley Stadium in the Premier League this past Saturday.
Crooks was especially impressed with a tackle that the 21-year-old – who earns £30,000 per week as salary, according to The Express – made on Tottenham winger Lucas Moura in the second half.
While including Gomez in his Premier League Team of the Week, Gomez wrote on BBC Sport: “The tackle by Joe Gomez on Lucas Moura in the second half of Liverpool’s win at Tottenham would have stopped a mail train.
“I said two weeks ago, after Liverpool’s impressive victory at Leicester, that this kid was the best defender I’ve seen in years.”

Progress
Gomez is progressing well at Liverpool and is playing regularly at the back for the Reds, and that can only help him improve and develop.
The England international defender gave a matured performance against Tottenham, and the 21-year-old should be proud of himself.
Lucas Moura praise
Meanwhile, Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has written in The Sun that Moura was the only player who performed well for Tottenham against Liverpool at Wembley.
The 26-year-old Brazil international winger started the Premier League match and played for the entire 90 minutes.
Shearer wrote in The Sun: “They also weren’t helped by the absence of Hugo Lloris in goal. Yet it was really only Brazilian Lucas Moura who came out of the performance with any credit.”
