The Toffees midfielder put in a superb performance for Marco Silva’s side at Goodison Park at the weekend.

BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks has spoken very highly of Everton midfielder Andre Gomes for his display at Goodison Park at the weekend (BBC Sport).
The Portugal ace looked back to his best with a near-flawless performance against West Ham, weighing in with several raking passes to split the opposition defence wide open, and showed plenty of energy and desire well into the latter stages of the game.
Prior to kickoff, Everton had lost their previous four Premier League games, leaving the Toffees manager Marco Silva on thin ice regarding his future, but with Gomes pulling the strings, assisted by fellow central midfielder Tom Davies and with the rest of the team also on song, Everton claimed a 2-0 win and alleviated pressure on the Goodison Park boss.
“If ever Everton needed a victory then this was it, if only to shut up those Moaning Minnies who are starting to question Marco’s Silva’s ability to manage the club,” Crooks wrote on BBC Sport as he named Gomes in his Team of the Week.

“This was an excellent performance by Everton against an in-form West Ham and the catalyst for this performance was Andre Gomes. The Portugal international has been badly missed by Everton because of injury but if he can remain fit and Theo Walcott stays focussed then anything is possible at Goodison. It is still a great place to play football.”
Everton moved out of the Premier League‘s bottom three after unanswered goals from Bernard and Gylfi Sigurdsson helped overcome the Hammers, and up next for the Toffees is the Premier League trip to Brighton next Saturday.
Gomes established himself as an Everton fan favourite last season on loan from Barcelona, leading to a permanent £22million switch to Goodison Park (official Everton website) on a deal worth approximately £112,000-per-week (Spotrac).
