Newcastle United beat Southampton 3-0 in the Premier League this weekend.
Pundit Garth Crooks has told BBC Sport that West Ham United fans were ‘totally unacceptable’ against Burnley on Saturday as he named his Team of the Week.
The Hammers were in action at the London Stadium against Sean Dyche’s men, and slipped to thumping 3-0 defeat as a goal from Ashley Barnes and a Chris Wood brace helped Burnley to victory.
As if a defeat which pushes West Ham closer to the relegation zone again wasn’t bad enough, there were unsavoury scenes involving supporters, as a number of pitch invasions took place in the second half.
Fans turned on the board, chanting as David Gold and David Sullivan in what became a completely toxic atmosphere, which even saw captain Mark Noble attempt to tackle one Hammers fan in the middle of the pitch.
The chaos at West Ham comes as David Moyes’ men slip closer to the bottom three, but one team who are edging away from the drop zone is Newcastle United.
The Magpies hammered Southampton 3-0 on Saturday afternoon, pulling Rafael Benitez’s men five points clear of the bottom three and another step closer to survival.
Brazilian loanee Kenedy, signed from Chelsea in January, was the hero with two goals, and pundit Garth Crooks has named the winger in his BBC Sport Team of the Week, noting that he couldn’t really tell whether Newcastle were that good or if Southampton were that bad.
Crooks also slammed West Ham fans for their ‘totally unacceptable’ behaviour against Burnley, urging the supporters to help not hinder their time in such a crucial stage of the season.
