West Ham United midfielder Dimitri Payet’s future at the London Stadium looks extremely uncertain.
Garth Crooks has told BBC Sport that he will drive West Ham United midfielder Dimitri Payet to Marseille, should Andy Carroll stay fit all season.
Carroll has struggled with fitness problems throughout his career to date, but he proved his worth for West Ham once again in their most recent fixture.
The Hammers beat Middlesbrough 3-1 at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday, with Carroll getting on the scoresheet twice.
The victory continued West Ham’s good form, since Payet’s desire for a move away became public knowledge.
And Crooks said: “Crisis, what crisis? I said last week if Andy Carroll can stay fit between now and the end of the season, Dimitri Payet can take a running jump. In fact, I will drive him to Marseille myself.”
Carroll first headed West Ham into the lead from a corner, before he blasted home from close range.
Jonathan Calleri scored the Hammers’ third, via a deflection, to ensure that Slaven Bilic’s side kept climbing the table.
West Ham are currently in 10th place in the Premier League table, after winning five of their last seven league matches.
West Ham are next in action in just over a week’s time, when they take on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the London Stadium, in what looks like a very tough test.
