Garth Crooks warns Sam Allardyce against losing fans at Everton like he did at west Ham United.

Garth Crooks has told BBC Sport that Everton manager Sam Allardyce needs to be careful about losing support of the fans, just as he did when he was at West Ham United.

The Toffees are in disappointing form at the moment, and their performances and playing style in recent matches have not been great.

Many Everton fans are not happy with the current situation, and former Tottenham and West Bromwich Albion forward Crooks has a warning for Allardyce.

Allardyce is a very experienced manager who knows the Premier League inside out, but the Englishman’s playing style is not exactly pleasing for the eye.

While the former Newcastle United boss did well during his spell as the West Ham manager from 2011 until 2015, the fans never took to him due to his dull and boring playing style.

Crooks told BBC Sport following Everton’s 2-1 defeat to Burnley in the Premier League at the weekend: “Everton boss Sam Allardyce, on the other hand, must be careful. He is losing matches and the support of a number of Toffees fans.

“The same thing happened when he was at West Ham and that eventually ended in tears.”

Future uncertain?

Allardyce was appointed the Everton manager at a time when the Toffees were in danger of getting relegated to the Championship.

The Merseyside outfit are not exactly out of danger yet, but they should be fine, although it is hard to see the Everton hierarchy to keep Allardyce as the first-team manager next season.
