Mo Salah was on the scoresheet once again as Liverpool recorded an entertaining win against Crystal Palace.

Garth Crooks has criticised Mo Salah for going down too easily during Liverpool’s 4-3 win over Crystal Palace by claiming ‘great players don’t do that’.

Andros Townsend had opened the scoring for Palace before Salah was involved in a challenge/incident with Cheikhou Kouyaté and Luka Milivojevic inside the penalty area.

Palace midfielder Milivojevic was particularly annoyed with the Liverpool man for the manner in which he went down and it is something BBC pundit Crooks picked up on during his analysis of the match.

“There was one sort of unsavoury moment with Salah,” Crooks told BBC’s Final Score programme on 19/01/2019 at 5:10 pm. “You know a wonderful player, he was fabulous last season and doing wonderful stuff this season.

“But there was a moment where he goes down under little or no challenge. Great players don’t do that and I think that’s something he needs to iron out of his game. He doesn’t need to do that.”

Jurgen Klopp’s side had to come from behind and score four second-half goals to clinch a valuable three points in the Premier League’s title race.

Egypt international Salah netted a brace for his team, with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane also getting on the scoresheet as James Milner saw red a minute before time.

As a result of that win, the Reds have opened up a seven-point lead over second-placed Manchester City in the table before their Sunday fixture.

Pep Guardiola’s men will travel to Yorkshire to take on managerless Huddersfield, who are bottom of the table with only two league wins to their name this season.
