Celtic were reportedly set to make a fresh move for John McGinn, but the Hibernian assistant has insisted that the Hoops are yet to get back in touch.

McGinn is looking set to be one of the most highly sought-after players in the Scottish top flight this summer, and the Edinburgh Evening News reports that Celtic had seen a £1.5 million bid rejected last week.
The Scottish Sun reported earlier in the month that Celtic were planning to return with a new bid for the promising 23-year-old. However, Parker has suggested that no new bid has come in for the Scotland international since the first offer was rejected.
“John got stuck in, put his foot in and passed the ball well. But he could have done better like everyone else. We’ve heard nothing more [from Celtic] and if he’s still here, of course he will play [against Runavik],” he said, as reported by the Edinburgh Evening News, after the defeat to Blackburn.
With Stuart Armstrong departing Parkhead for Southampton earlier in the summer, Brendan Rodgers would be making the smart play looking to bolster his options in the middle of the park before the new season kicks off.

McGinn has shown signs of real quality during his time at Easter Road, and there are not many 23-year-olds around who boast 230 career appearances at senior level as well as a handful of caps for the national team.
And while Celtic should have more than enough quality without McGinn to ensure that they make it through the first round of Champions League qualifying, they would perhaps be wise to act swiftly to give him the best chance of getting settled in before the new domestic campaign kicks off – if Rodgers is determined to make sure that the Hibs midfielder joins this summer.
