Celtic are seemingly interested in signing the £5 million-rated midfielder.

Hibernian assistant boss Garry Parker has confirmed to The Record that Celtic have lodged a bid for John McGinn, and claims that the midfielder’s absence last night is not linked to an imminent exit.
McGinn was nowhere to be seen as Neil Lennon’s side thrashed Berwich in a friendly last night.

That omission came days after Celtic reportedly lodged £1.5 million for the 23-year-old, who is one of the most sought-after stars in the Scottish Premiership.

The Hoops could be about £3.5 million short in Lennon’s £5 million valuation [The Record], but former Leicester City and Aston Villa ace Parker does not concern himself with the price-tag.
“Celtic have submitted a bid as we all know but John is our player at the moment. I don’t know what price we would be looking for. You would need to ask the board,” he told The Record.
“But nothing fazes John, he will be playing on Sunday and we are looking forward to that ahead of a big game against Runavik.”
McGinn is clearly a very good player and the sooner Celtic can get a deal gone, the better.
Brendan Rodgers will want him eligble for their Champions League preliminary clashes in the coming weeks, but the best way to get him is simple: pay the money.
