Leeds boss coy on reported new arrival.
Leeds United manager Garry Monk
Leeds United head coach Garry Monk is giving little away when it comes to new signings.
The Bristol Post reported last night the Whites are close to tying up a deal for defender Luke Ayling, and Monk was quizzed on this after Leeds’ penalty shootout win over Fleetwood Town.

Asked by BBC Radio Leeds if Ayling is close, and whether he will be a Leeds player this week, Monk responded: “Well we are trying to, we know we need to strengthen and bring players in, and hopefully that can happen sooner rather than later.”
Quizzed again whether this meant Ayling, Monk was evasive, adding: “It could be anyone.”
Leeds have been as secretive as possible over signing this summer, determined to give little away, but will feel a little pressure has been relieved after avoiding elimination from the cup against lower league opposition.
Monk sent a tweet after the game, commenting that he was pleased with the outcome.
The win will lift spirits ahead of the upcoming Championship game against Birmingham City at Elland Road this weekend after a 3-0 loss at QPR in the opener.
If the club have if their way, they may even have one or two new faces available for selection.
