The Swansea City midfielder thrived at the Liberty Stadium under the Leeds United boss.
Leeds manager Garry Monk
Leeds United are in a serious fight for promotion to the Premier League.
The West Yorkshire side are currently fourth in the Championship and looking likely to finish in the play-off places, whilst a win against Brighton this weekend could move them closer to potential automatic promotion.
If they are promoted, new faces will undoubtedly be needed. One area that will need improving is in the centre of midfield. Whilst Leeds have good options there in Liam Bridcutt, Eunan O’Kane and Ronaldo Vieira others will be necessary if Monk is to play his favoured formation for an entire Premier League campaign.
Could Swansea City man Ki Sung-Yeung be the perfect player?
Leeds will need players with Premier League experience. Ki has plenty after spells at Swansea and Sunderland in the top-flight.
The Swansea City player found himself out of the team at the Liberty Stadium under Michael Laudrup and was loaned to Sunderland in August 2013.
Swansea City’s Ki Sung Yueng applauds the fans after the match
He impressed at the Stadium of Light and when Monk took over at Swansea quickly became a regular in the Swansea team once again.
He won the 2014-15 Swansea Player of the Year award under the guidance of Monk and the 89-cap South Korea international could be a brilliant addition to the Leeds United midfield.
If Leeds head back to the Premier League, Monk should certainly consider a reunion with his former Swansea star.
