Leeds United boss Garry Monk’s future appears to be very uncertain currently.
Garry Monk’s comments to Radio Yorkshire, which suggest that Leeds United will be in position to earn promotion next season if they stick with him, are very similar to Steve Evans’, when he was in the same position last year.
Monk is entering a period of uncertainty, with his contract at Elland Road expiring in the coming months.
The 38-year-old boss is yet to be presented with new terms, much to the disappointment of many Leeds supporters.

Monk is insistent that he can get Leeds back into the Premier League, if he is offered a new deal.
“I have a very clear idea of what’s needed about how we can go to the next stage – which is a promotion campaign from the very start,” he said.
“Of course, those talks will help to see if the club are aligned with myself about how we need to go forward.”
Monk’s comments are very similar to Evans, when he was in exactly the same position last term.

Evans promised that Leeds would’ve been in the play offs this season, had they kept him in charge.
“I want a proper promotion challenge next season,” Evans said to the Daily Express, towards the end of last campaign.
“I’m certain that I’ll get the support I want in the summer so if I can’t get a proper promotion challenge going I won’t be here.
“Mr Cellino won’t have to sack me because I’ll walk away with no money. I’ll have failed.”
Of course, Evans was never given the chance to show whether he could back up his chat at Leeds, with Monk replacing him.
And Leeds fans appear to be hoping that the end of Monk’s story will have a different end to Evans’.
Leeds fans rallied in support of Monk on the final day of the season, at Wigan Athletic, with the Elland Road crowd almost unanimously hoping that the former Swansea boss receives a new contract.
