Leeds United beat Norwich City 3-2 at Carrow Road yesterday.
Garry Monk has told Radio Yorkshire that Pontus Jansson took a risk by running into the fans while celebrating his first goal for Leeds United.
Jansson put Leeds back on level terms in their match against Norwich City at Carrow Road yesterday, and in a typical show of passion he headed straight towards the away end.
Jansson was embraced by the Leeds fans, who have taken him in to their hearts since he signed from Torino.
However, Monk was less impressed with the centre-back’s celebration.
The Leeds boss was worried that Jansson had put himself in a situation where he was risking getting a red card for giving away a cheap foul.
And when asked whether he would speak to Jansson after the match, Monk said: “Hmm…. It’s risky, isn’t it? We talk a lot about cheap yellow cards, and how they can cost you. Thankfully today it didn’t. But I can’t be critical of my team today.”
Leeds went on to win the match against Norwich 3-2, after putting in a brilliant display.
After Jansson had scored, Chris Wood and Ronaldo Vieira also hit the back of the net to provide Leeds with the three points.
Leeds are now in the top six, after winning nine of their last 12 matches to move up the Championship standings.
