Leeds United boss Garry Monk has confirmed that Stuart Dallas will probably miss the game against Wigan Athletic on Tuesday, and suggested when he will know the full extent of the winger’s injury, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that the 25-year-old returned from international duty with the problem and was subsequently sent for an initial scan on the injury that ruled him out of the defeat to Derby County on Saturday.

And Monk admitted that he currently has little information about how long the Northern Irishman will be out for, but suggested when the Championship club will have a better idea.

“We’ve re-scanned him and it’s likely that he’s going to be out for a little bit,” he said, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“How long that’ll be, we’ll probably know in the middle of this week but it doesn’t look like he’ll be available for Tuesday. Whether it’ll be the weekend we’ll see.

“We won’t really know until midweek exactly what sort of length it’s going to be.”

Though the former Brentford man struggled early on in the campaign, he had begun to show the kind of form that made him so influential during his first year at Elland Road in recent weeks.

Not only is his creativity important, but his partnership with Charlie Taylor on the left flank has caused several opponents numerous problems this term.

And it is perhaps not a coincidence that Leeds failed to score at the iPro Stadium after the partnership had to be broken up following Dallas’ injury, so Monk will surely be hoping that the results that should be coming in this week offer some positive news about how long the winger will be on the sidelines for.
