Leeds United face a tough task against Newcastle United tomorrow night.

Whites boss Garry Monk spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference, and explained why his side struggled against the Magpies earlier on in the season, highlighting how his players were maybe caught up in the occasion rather than focusing on the task in hand, as quoted by the Shields Gazette.
Whilst Newcastle have all but secured promotion to the Premier League, Leeds are still deeply entrenched in the battle for a place inside the top six, with just five points separating themselves and seventh placed Fulham.
Tomorrow night’s game could either greatly enhance or severely dent their hopes of gaining promotion to the Premier League, and Monk’s men will have to be at their very best if they are to leave St James’ Park with a positive result.
And the Leeds manager told reporters how his side will be determined to put in a better performance than they did in the reverse fixture way back in November, as quoted by the Shields Gazette:

“Maybe we played the occasion a little bit and didn’t have our full focus on the football. We want to go up there and make sure we don’t make the same mistake. I spoke to the players after the first game, and said I felt we hadn’t done ourselves enough justice. I don’t think we showed them too much respect. I just think we didn’t put ourselves in a position to show what we are capable of.”
The West Yorkshire outfit have impressed this term, but the lack of experience in their side could prove to be their demise, as they head into the business end of their campaign.
Newcastle on the other hand have assembled an excellent squad, with just the right mixture of youthful exuberance and experience.
Leeds have sprung plenty of surprises this term, however, and it would certainly not be a shock to see them leave Tyneside with all three points.
