The Leeds United manager has been linked with the Norwich City manager’s job in recent weeks.

Whites boss Garry Monk spoke to reporters ahead of his side’s crucial game against Norwich on Saturday, and provided an update regarding his future, after links emerged last week linking him with the Canaries’ managerial role, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening post.
Leeds have enjoyed a successful campaign on the most part, but their recent run of poor form looks like it could prove to be extremely costly, after one win from their last six outings has seen them slip down to seventh in the Championship table, three points adrift of sixth placed Fulham.
A place inside the play-off spots is now out of their hands, for the first time this season, and if they do miss out on the top six, Monk’s role as manager will surely come under scrutiny once again.
And the Leeds boss told reporters how talks are planned with the club in June regarding his future at Elland Road, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post:
“I have not spoken to the club about anything at all. The club said they want to sit down and talk in June and that’s fine. I have to respect the club. We’ll need to sit down and agree on plans to move forward.”

He then elaborated on his stance following rumours linking him with the Carrow Road hot-seat:
“It’s the same type of rumours there have been over the past few months with the players as well. It’s not my focus.”
The Championship is renowned for throwing up a surprise or two, however, so all is not yet lost for the West Yorkshire outfit. A return of six points from their last two games could see them climb into the play-off spots, and then who knows where they could end up.
One thing is for sure, Garry Monk deserves great credit for the job he has done during his time at Leeds, and the club’s owners would be mad to even consider not extending his current deal.
