Leeds United won 1-0 against Ipswich Town in their most recent fixture.

Leeds United boss Garry Monk has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 26th September, that he had a friendly chat with Mick McCarthy after his side’s match against Ipswich Town at the weekend.

Monk’s Leeds side beat Ipswich 1-0, in what was arguably their most dominant display of the season so far.

The Whites could have won by a far greater margin, but Monk does not feel that Ipswich should concerned by the way they played at Elland Road.

He said: “I felt that we played one of our best games. Our performance was really good.

“I spoke to Mick afterwards, and the difficulty he was talking about was that they have a small squad and they had a few injuries. That’s difficult in this league.

“But they’re good – we just caught them on a day where our performances was really good.”

Leeds’ win over Ipswich has been enough to move them ahead of McCarthy’s men in the Championship standings.

Leeds are currently in 12th place in the table, while Ipswich sit in 14th spot – after a middling start.

Monk’s side have won their last four matches, and look to be clicking into gear, with their next match coming against Bristol City on Tuesday evening.

Ipswich, meanwhile, are set to take on promotion contenders Brighton & Hove Albion in midweek.
