Leeds United fans now believe that promotion to the Premier League is a genuine possibility.

Whites boss Garry Monk spoke to the Yorkshire Evening Post about his current state of happiness at Elland Road, and explained how he was originally tempted to take over at the club because he wanted to help return the feel-good-factor to the club, after a succession of miserable years for the players and fans.
Monk has worked wonders since his appointment as Leeds manager in the summer, and has guided them to fifth in the Championship table, just eight points adrift of second placed Brighton & Hove Albion.
What makes the former Swansea City boss’ performance in charge of the West Yorkshire outfit all the more impressive is how much his side struggled during the early stages of his tenure.
He has also proven that it is possible to enjoy a working relationship with Massimo Cellino, and he has now become the longest serving manager under the Italian.
And Monk spoke to the Yorkshire Evening Post about the reasoning behind taking the Leeds job in the first place, and how he is desperate to keep the players and fans smiling:

“I’ve talked many times about the club, the history of it, the size of it and the challenge but also about the recent history as well. Recently there’s been a lot of suffering and not so much enjoyment. I wanted to take that challenge and put a smile back on our fans’ faces and a smile back on the players’ faces; to bring back more positivity and ultimately have a way of playing that everyone could enjoy.”
Next up for Leeds is a trip to Ipswich Town tomorrow, before they play host to Sheffield Wednesday the following week, for what will be a hotly contested Yorkshire derby.
