Leeds United were beaten 3-2 by Barnsley at Oakwell at the weekend.
Garry Monk has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that he was not too hard on his Leeds United players after they were beaten by Barnsley on Saturday evening.
Leeds went into the match unbeaten in their last seven league contests, but they were short of their best at Oakwell.
Barnsley ended up beating Monk’s side 3-2, to dent their hopes of climbing into the top two.
But Monk insists that he could not be too hard on his Leeds team after the match, as they have put in so much effort recently.

“It is a feeling we have not had for a while, to lose a game,” Monk said.
“Everyone wants to ask questions, but I said to the players that we have been playing at such a high level and a high standard that we will have the odd (bad) game now and then.
“We have already proved in the past that we can react in the next game. That is our focus now – to put the feeling we have now in the game on Wednesday.”

Leeds had actually taken the lead at Oakwell, when Chris Wood opened the scoring.
However, Barnsley struck back with three goals of their own, as they took a commanding advantage.
Leeds did get one goal back through Wood again, but Kemar Roofe missed their best chance to claim a point, when he put his close range shot wide of the mark.
Leeds have now slipped down to fourth place in the Championship table, but their spot inside the play offs still looks fairly secure.
