Leeds United have finished this season in seventh place in the Championship table.
Garry Monk has told Radio Yorkshire that he asked three things of every Leeds United player at the start of the season.
When Monk took charge at Leeds, he wanted his players to be more aggressive and show more leadership.
And the 38-year-old feels that the Whites players took his advice on board.
“There were three things we asked from all the players: to show more leadership on and off the pitch, to be more aggressive and to show their ability,” he revealed, following Leeds’ last match of the season.
“We knew that if we concentrated on those three things with all the players, they were going to be successful.”
Leeds ended their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Wigan Athletic.
Chris Wood scored Leeds’ goal, after they had fallen behind against already relegated Wigan.
Leeds’ campaign ultimately ended in disappointment, as they missed out of a play off place, but they still made good progress.
Monk’s future is now uncertain, with his contract due to expire in the near future.
Monk has suggested he would like to stay at Leeds, with talks set to begin between him and the club imminently.
