Leeds United beat Rotherham United 3-0 at Elland Road yesterday.
Leeds United boss Garry Monk has told BBC Radio Leeds that his side played at Rotherham United’s pace for the first half yesterday.
Leeds struggled against Rotherham in the opening 45 minutes, and went into the break at half-time.
However, after some stern words at the break, Leeds were much improved in the second half and ran out 3-0 winners over the struggling Yorkshire rivals.
And Monk said: “As expected from an away team, they came and slowed everything down and we ended up playing at their pace. I was disappointed in that.
“At half-time I spoke about being at our best and what we need to do in the second half is to play at our pace, and at a high tempo. We made a change and second half we did that.”
Leeds barely managed to muster up a shot in the first half, but they were superb in the second period.
The Whites took the lead through Kyle Bartley and they never looked back after that.
Leeds added a further two goals through Chris Wood to seal yet another victory, which strengthens their promotion push.
Leeds are currently in fifth place in the Championship table – and they have managed to build up a five point gap over seventh placed Derby County.
