Leeds United have impressed so far this season after a difficult start to their campaign.

Whites boss Garry Monk spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference, ahead of his side’s huge clash with Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow, and shared the method that he and his staff use to get his squad of players focused for each and every game, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Leeds currently sit in fifth spot in the Championship table, ahead of sixth placed Wednesday due to their superior goal difference, and will be desperate for three points against the Owls to consolidate their place amongst the play-off spots.

And Monk spoke to reporters about the significance of their clash against Carlos Carvalhal’s men, highlighting how he has tried to impress upon his squad the importance of taking each game as it comes, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post:

“We are very much a game by game approach. Three points are the most important and we will try and fight as hard as we can for these three points. That’s the mentality we have, that’s the focus that we have and that’s how we focus the players –to give their maximum for each game ahead of them and not to focus on anything else that is out of your control.”

Leeds head into the game at Elland Road on the back of just two wins from their last five league outings, whilst the visitors have taken 12 points from the last 15 available, although they did suffer a surprise loss last time out at home to Brentford on Tuesday night.

And a win for either side tomorrow will give them renewed hope that they could make a late push for the automatic promotion spots, however unlikely that may seem at present.
