Leeds’ Pablo Hernandez dejected
Leeds United manager Garry Monk has taken to Twitter after watching his side lose 1-0 away to Bristol City on Tuesday evening.
After beating Ipswich Town 1-0 on Saturday, Leeds had made it three Championship wins in a row, and travelled to Bristol in search of another three points on Tuesday.
Marlon Pack scores the first goal for Bristol City
Pablo Hernandez and Hadi Sacko had both missed good chances for Leeds before Hernandez was caught in possession on the halfway line by Marlon Pack, handing Lee Tomlin the chance to drive towards the box before playing in Pack to score the opening goal.
Leeds had further chances through Sacko and then Chris Wood but couldn’t find the equaliser, with the Robins running out 1-0 winners at Ashton Gate.
Leeds manager Garry Monk
It’s a disappointing setback for Leeds after such a strong run of results, and Monk will be hoping to bounce back immediately when Leeds host Yorkshire rivals Barnsley at Elland Road on Saturday.
After the final whistle at Ashton Gate, manager Monk actually took to Twitter to send a message to Leeds supporters about the defeat.
Monk admitted he was ‘disappointed’ with the defeat, and felt that Leeds’ performance deserved more – but urged his players and fans to regroup and come back stronger against Barnsley on Saturday.
