Leeds United lost 2-1 to Peterborough United in a pre-season friendly today.

Leeds United continued their pre-season preparations today, as they were beaten 2-1 by League One side Peterborough United this afternoon.
The Whites – who split their squads and beat Guiseley 4-3 on Friday night with a stunning comeback – used their stronger side against Peterborough today, and looked to be heading towards a win in the first half.

Alex Mowatt put Leeds in front in the first half, but two second-half goals from Shaquile Coulthirst turned the game on its head, and Peterborough ran out 2-1 winners.
After a poor first half but superb second half against Guiseley, it was the opposite against Peterborough, as Leeds dominated in the first half before fading after half time, leaving manager Monk with plenty to ponder.

It’s now just two weeks until the Championship season gets underway, and Leeds will be travelling down to London to take on Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road; a tricky opening to the season for Monk.
After this afternoon’s game, Monk took to Twitter to send a message to fans, stating that the second half against Guiseeley and first half against Peterborough are the levels Leeds should be looking for, offering a ‘positive foundation’ to build on.

After losing Lewis Cook to Bournemouth, there may still be some transfer funds for Monk to work with as he looks to iron out some of the problems seen over the last two days.
With the likes of Kyle Bartley, Marcus Antonsson and Kemar Roofe snapped up already, it’s been a bright summer for Leeds – and manager Monk is clearly seeing the positives even after a disappointing result this afternoon.
