The young Leeds United full-back suffered the setback against Norwich City earlier this week.

Leeds United manager Garry Monk has been speaking to the Yorkshire Post about Lewie Coyle’s injury setback.
The 21-year-old suffered the blow late on against Norwich City earlier this week, leaving the field after Leeds had already used all three substitutes.

The Whites still triumphed in the penalty shootout but Coyle now faces a prolonged spell on the side-lines.
“It’s a knee injury,” Monk told the Yorkshire Post. “It’s his medial ligament so we’re hoping not too long but it can be anything from probably six to 12 weeks.”

Coyle has struggled for game time this season, playing just 68 minutes in the Championship and being an unused substitute in the following 13 matches. However, he has been an ever-present in the EFL Cup and it is a huge blow for him personally to miss the quarter-final clash with Liverpool next month.
Leeds have Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi so they will not be short of right-backs in Coyle’s absence, yet it is still disappointing to see him face a spell out of contention after looking impressive whenever he has played.
