Leeds United must make do without the Swiss player for another fortnight.
Leeds United manager Garry Monk has been speaking to reporters ahead of his side’s clash against Ipswich Town, with his comments published on the Whites’ official Twitter account.
Leeds are enjoying a fine run of form, winning their last three games in all competitions after the club struggled in the early weeks of Monk’s tenure.
There is still a lot of work to be done, but Leeds are now full of confidence and will be hoping to get another three points on the board when they take on an Ipswich side just two points outside the play-off places as things stand.
In contrast Leeds are two points and four places worse off yet things could quickly turn round if they maintain their good form.
One player they will have to do without for at least another two weeks is Swiss full-back Gaetano Berardi.
The defender has been side-lined since he came off against Queens Park Rangers in the first match of the season and Monk has explained that despite returning to training he is still some way off a first-team return.
“It’s great to have him back in training,” Monk said. “He’s a great character and a big part of our squad.
“Berardi is still a couple of weeks away from being ready for selection, though. He might need some under-23 games first.”
